Mindful Living in Action
Since I was a junior in high school, I have practiced Karma Yoga, which is a practice of outward action and service that contributes to the journey of others. This way of being led me to pursue multiple degrees in education, which allowed me to serve both students and staff as a public school teacher and educational leader for 29 years.
I left the classroom to become a building principal in 2002, hoping to widen my sphere of influence, nurturing, and empowerment from the student level to the adult level. I wanted every teacher I had the honor of supervising to be equipped with that same Karma Yoga mindset, even if they were not technically yoga practitioners. Over the years, the teams I have worked with and alongside have built amazing structures together, all with the needs of our students and our community at the forefront of our motivation.
From out-of-the-box extracurricular initiatives to district-wide curricular and programmatic innovations, I have been able to use my knowledge, my educational credentials, and my nearly three decades of experience to truly increase the capacity of others.
As a highly credentialed, retired educator and yoga practitioner living out mindful practices in every facet of my life, my journey evolved into the creation of The Pranayama Group.
Because I am not “done” building capacity in others, I have the honor of doing that through personalized coaching, educational consulting services, and guidance for daily living through meditation, Ayurvedic principles, and breath work.
Life is difficult.
But the tools I have for your personal life, your professional life, and your organizational health will allow you to THRIVE through the difficulties one moment, one breath and one moment at a time.
